Television presenter, actress and rapper Boity Thulo (real name Boitumelo Thulo) is having the best time of her music career right now.
The former Club 808 presenter recently released a single titled Wuz Dat featuring rapper Nasty C (real name Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo).
Boity’s single has been well received by Hip-Hop fans who were surprised by how good it was. As a result, the 28-year-old multi-talented star has received a number of gig booking since she her debut song. Although many fans are happy for her, a few have called into question the hype surrounding her single and the bookings that have come with it.
One Twitter user took to social media suggesting that there are so many rappers like Solo who struggle to get bookings.
“I’m happy for Boity and rap career getting so much support and blowing up off 1 track but I’m mad that there’s artists out there with mad catalogues and fan bases who struggle to get bookings. Solo just released a damn masterpiece but crickets (sic),” – one Twitter user tweeted.
Local rapper Solo (real name Zothile Langa), simply responded by saying: “Weird how I ran into this. Boity is doing her thing. The assumption is that people don’t wanna see me live I guess… or I’m not crowd pulling. Truth is it doesn’t matter. Put it on me rather. No victim mentality. Putting on my own shows. TOUR DATES FOR TOUR DATES coming soon (sic).”
