Sbahle Mpisane graduates

One of the most fitness bunnies in South Africa, Sbahle Mpisane, has graduated with her Bachelor’s degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). Celebrity fitness trainer Sbahle Mpisane has obtained a degree in Housing and Town planning on Monday.

When asked about choosing the UKZN, Sbahle said “I chose UKZN because it’s always easier to stay grounded when you are close to home. From studying architecture to housing‚ it all goes back to passion in technical drawings‚ reading maps and enjoying practical work.”

After successful auditions in Port Elizabeth and Cape Town, hundreds of hopefuls flocked to the Durban Exhibition Centre to show off their presenting skills in the hopes of landing a spot on Presenter Search on 3 this season. Hosted by Pabi Moloi, the auditions allow everyday South Africans the opportunity to make their dreams of being a TV presenter come true in an exciting reality TV format which tests their ability to showcase their best presenting skills while being put to the test in a variety of challenges.

Guest judges in Durban included television presenters Ayanda Thabethe, Maps Maponyane, Ewan Strydom, Danilo Acquisto, Tevin Naidu and Shirdika Pillai. Throughout the two days, the energy at the audition venue was electrifying and the judges found some talented gems.

Date My Family bachelor Moremogolo Mmuoe graduates

Moremogolo Mmuoe, who went to Date My Family in search of love, graduated with another qualification from the University of Limpopo last week Wednesday.

Moremogolo set social media buzz with his controversial statements Date My Family. One of his remarkable statements was “Monna ke selepe , boshego rea a adimishana,” a Sepedi Idiom loosely translated “A man is an axe, he gets passed around to other women at night”.

According to Daily Sun, the 24-year-old bachelor from Moletjie Ga-Manamela in Limpopo said it was the second time he had graduated at the University of Limpopo.

In 2015 he graduated with a BA in performing arts. On Wednesday last week he received a postgraduate diploma in Information Studies.

Moremogolo said: “I am taking a break this year and intend to enrol for a master’s degree next year.

“I always encourage young people to go to school and invest their time in reading. They don’t have to read educational books. Magazines and short stories also have a lot of interesting information. Reading such material can improve their vocabulary,” he said.

Phindile Gwala has a new “beast”

Self-proclaimed “African queen” Phindile Gwala, who became best known for her acting role as Nonny on the soap opera Muvhango, has been blessed with a brand new Range Rover.

We are not sure if she actually bought it or it was a gift from Land Rover since it’s branded with the Land Rover logo. However, the actress thanked the Land Rover Empangeni dealership for the “beast”.

“Queening in this Personalized Beauty and the Beast. Thank you so much Land Rover Empangeni for this baby… I’ve never been this comfortable when driving,” Phindile said on her Instagram account.

“Congratulations Phindile enjoy the ride,” the owner of the dealership congratulated Gwala.

Her Congolese fiance and baby daddy, Armando Ngandu also congratulated her for the new beast. “A shining star; forever proud of you,” he said on Instagram.

Comedian and radio host, Skhumba Hlophe has been announced as the host of the 2018 Savanna Newcomer Showcase.

“Savanna created this event to give our country’s talented newcomers a platform to shine and we’ve seen standing ovations annually for new comics that come out of nowhere and blow us away,” – says Diego Jacobs, Savanna RSA Brand Activation Manager.

Each newcomer comedian will be given five minutes to perform for the audience and make a lasting impression. This gives the public and the comedy fraternity the chance to figure out who they should be voting for.

Skhumba is the 2017 winner of the Savanna Comic of the Year Award and the winner of the Flying Solo Award for two years running. Previous Savanna newcomer winners include Daniel Friedman (Deep Fried Man), Dillan Oliphant, Schalk Bezuidenhout, Loyiso Madinga, Ebenhaezer Dibakwane, Thabiso Mhlongo and Yaaseen Barnes.

The Savanna Newcomer Showcase will take place on Sunday, 20 May 2018 at The Soweto Theatre.

Radio and television personality, Azania Mosaka will stand-in for Anele Mdoda on Real Talk on 3 when she is on a break.

The show announced the news on Thursday on Twitter saying “Anele will be taking a well-deserved break, but don’t stress, Azania Mosaka will be right here on #RealTalk, still bringing you incredible topics & conversations,” Real Talk on 3 tweeted.

Earlier this week, the show said “Azania Mosaka is one of the most loved celebrities in South Africa, usually very composed & that is one of the traits S.A loves about her. Tonight she joins us in studio to tell us how she juggles it all.”

Anele will be on leave from the 17th of April until the 1st of May 2018 and Azania is excited to be joining the show.

“We hinted that something is cooking…from Tuesday 17 April, I’ll be standing in for Anele on @realtalkon3 for 2 weeks. I haven’t done TV on a national platform for a decade due to being focused on talk radio and business. I’m really excited about dipping the proverbial toe back in the game (sic)” Azania Mosaka said on Instagram.

West Ink boss Mandla Maphumulo better known as Mampintsha has dropped his debut solo single titled Amakentanga featuring Babes Wodumo.

Mampintsha, who left the kwaito group Big Nuz, is known for producing hits. He is also the man behind Babes Wodumo’s success.

Babes Wodumo (Bongekile Simelane) is signed with Mampintsha’s West Ink label.

Amakentanga is a isiZulu word for chains and it also a slang term used to describe a thumping sound at a party or gathering. The song starts off by describing a typical night with his party people and how an epic night is born.

Local actor falls to his death while filming a fight scene

Actor dies while shooting a movie

Police have opened an inquest after a 39-year-old actor from Johannesburg fell to his death at the Sterkspruit waterfall in the Drakensberg.

The actor’s name has not been released to the public.

According to reports, the crew was filming a fight scene when the actor fell at around 5.30pm.

Chief Okhahlamba Fire Emergency Service Fred Halgreen, Okhahlamba Municipal firemen and volunteers spent five hours searching for the man without any results. “We called off the search at around 11pm,” Halgreen told a local newspaper.

The police’s Thulani Zwane said: “This morning our search and rescue team from PMB went to the scene to recover and they managed to recover his body and, therefore, a case of inquest was opened by the police for further investigation.”
