Daily Theta presenter Tumelo Mothotoane has welcomed a baby girl. The radio and TV presenter announced on Instagram that she has welcomed a healthy baby girl.

“What a miracle it was carrying you for the past 38 weeks. What an honour it was experiencing your little life inside me. What a privilege it is to be crowned your mother. What a journey ahead I look forward to nurturing you. It is with beaming pride, a joyful heart and tears in my eyes that I announce the safe and healthy landing of my daughter Mogau into the world. The Grace of God” – Mothotoane said in an Instagram post.

TRESOR announced as UN Ambassador

The official announcement will be made this evening at the launch event at the Four Seasons Hotel, Westcliff. TRESOR will be announced as a UN Refugee Ambassador under the LuQuLuQu campaign where he will play a role as a High Level Influencer (HLI) for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).

TRESOR’s role as an HLI will include amongst others the advocacy of the struggles and challenges faced by refugees. Being in a unique position of having been a refugee himself, TRESOR makes for the perfect UNHCR Ambassador, as this is a cause very close to his heart and he is able to truly empathise with refugees.

“Having been a refugee myself for so many years, I truly understand the struggle for simple basic life needs. To have organisations like the UNHCR on the continent is truly a blessing. I’m honoured that they have identified me as a suitable voice to advocate for refugees on the continent and I look forward to playing a role that can positively affect the lives of refugees,” shares TRESOR.

Rapper Lolo Vandal opens his own record label African Elephant

ZuxoleNgetu whose stage name is Lolo Vandal, was born and raised in King Williams Town a small town in the Eastern Cape. He fell in love with music at a young age, and at age 13 he started writing his own songs.  In 2007 Lolo Vandal formed a hip hop group called ‘Black Weapons’ with XolelaPongoma, whose stage name is ‘Posta’. They released their first album ‘Iponti’ which was well received by the people of the Eastern Cape.

Lolo Vandal’s love for music kept him moving, after entertaining different crowds with Posta in 2010 he had to continue doing music as a solo artist because his group mate was venturing into modelling. Lolo Vandal worked hard in building his name, in 2012/2013 he produced and presented a hip hop show “Break the Dust” at Forte fm which aired on Fridays and Saturdays.



Lolo Vandal’s hustle will amaze you:in 2013 he entered a competition run by Ms Cosmo DJ on ‘The Stir Up’ where he bullied rappers from 7 provinces in South Africa with a fresh 16 bars every week. After 7 weeks he was crowned ‘The Ultimate King of Rap Factor’. He then recorded a song with PH at Raw X studios, a song that featured on the Back to the City compilation cd.

He featured on Hype magazine 5 times in a row, appeared on national TV several times and made waves on a number of national radio stations. This young man is a hard working individual: after releasing a studio album ‘Siyacela’ at Galela Studios, Lolo Vandal worked with HDi Youth Marketers together with Unisa in promoting the study of multilingualism in South Africa through his music.

He has achieved a lot, and he is now taking things to the next Level by opening his own media hub called ‘African Elephant’. After releasing his Ep titled ‘Bonus’, he announced that he had started his own record label, also called African Elephant. Lolo Vandal believes that with his experience and strength, he is ready to be his own boss and run his own business.

He says, “African Elephant is a media hub that will develop artists. We plan to provide skills and produce content that will change the world. We plan to collaborate with bigger companies and provide major broadcasters with fresh content.”

EFF South Africa supports Fifi Cooper

Political party EFF South Africa has offered to help Fifi Cooper after she was slapped with a court interdict by her previous employer, Ambitiouz Entertainment for contract breach.

“We have seen the injustice caused on Fifi Cooper by Ambitious Entertainment which is politically associated with the corrupt North West Premier, Supra Mahumapelo. We have contacted Fifi with the willingness to help her fight back against the corrupt & exploitative record company” – EFF South Africa said in a post on Twitter.

Ambitiouz Entertainment released a statement yesterday confirming the interdict from the Gauteng High court. According to the statement, the rapper cannot sing any of ‘her’ songs must pay back royalties, court costs, and damages, and cannot claim copyright of ‘her’ songs.

Bonang Matheba joins CSA

Media personality Bonang Matheba severed parted ways with brand and reputation management company DNA Brand Architects after a five-year partnership in a bid to expand her brand Bonang globally. The star has left the company that contributed to growing her brand over the years to join global agency Celebrity Services Africa (CSA).

The partnership with Bonang will see CSA support and build brand Bonang across all mediums including entertainment, fashion, entrepreneurship and philanthropy, with a specific focus on the global market.

Speaking to City Press, Sylvester Chauke, the founder of DNA Brand Architects, states that they have had an incredible 5 years with Bonang as her strategic partner and wish her the best for the future.

“In this time, we delivered game-changing partnerships and projects which we are very proud of. It is, however, now time for Bonang to take her brand to the next level of its growth and we are excited about where she will take her brand,” Chauke said, adding that they would be cheering for her every step of the way as they believed that Bonang was a South African brand that belonged to the world.”

“Following my international tour in Paris, London and Lagos, I am now focused on establishing my brand outside of South Africa” – Matheba says.

“CSA is the perfect partner to build my brand. Surely having a presence across the globe will have relevance,” she explained.

“I am thrilled to be joining C.S.A., who have proven themselves as a force to be reckoned with within the African market as well as globally. Court interdict rules against rapper Boingotlo ‘Fifi Cooper’ Mooketsi

Rapper Boingotlo Mooketsi popularly knowns as Fifi Cooper was slapped with a court interdict by her previous employer, Ambitiouz Entertainment for contract breach.

The recording label released a statement confirming the interdict from the Gauteng High court. According to the statement, the rapper cannot sing any of ‘her’ songs must pay back royalties, court costs, and damages, and cannot claim copyright of ‘her’ songs.

Fifi Cooper was also instructed not to make any statement claiming ownership of copyright to the songs. Fifi has further been ordered to pay damages for infringing on the stable’s copyrights and to pay the legal costs of the suit.

Cooper was also ordered to return all the songs to the stable or delete them from her media platforms, like memory sticks.

Ambitiouz Entertainment boss Kgosi Mahumapelo confirmed they have interdicted the talented musician.

“She is interdicted from infringing all our copyright in relation to the songs; she is interdicted from making any media statements claiming ownership of copyright; she is to pay damages to Ambitiouz, which damages will be determined by conducting an inquiry in terms of section 24 of the Copyright Act; and she is ordered to pay costs of the application, including costs of two counsel,” read a written response from Mahumapelo.
