Getting to know DJ Fingz, a Hip-hop DJ & producer from Tembisa

DJ Fingz Gift

DJ Fingz, whose real name is Gift, was born in Tembisa, Gauteng Province, on 27 October 1991. Fingz is a House/Hip-hop and Kwaito DJ and producer known for his work in Thee Extreem Hip-Hop mix projects.

The Tembisa Awards Best Upcoming DJ Nominee and currently the mix DJ for The HoodBase Show on SMU FM 91.7, creates, performs crazy and unique sounds, including heavy mixes of Trap club favourites, original Hip-hop,
soulful RNB, commercial hip-hop and/or funky sounds of other styles.

Starting his career as a DJ at local Pubs in 2010, covering various styles and genres with a focus on dance music, DJ Fingz began creating his own hybrid of hip-hop and trap music into a club sound that fits well in festivals as it does on dance floors.

With a full length of mix seasons released on SoundCloud and a free single release of Drum Hostage (original mix) on Soundcloud, got him called in to be a Deejay for a community TV show named Street Dance 4 Lyf for the Midrand Tembisa Tv (MTTV) community channel. Fingz took part in the Tembisa Community Awards (TCA) as the headline act for launch gala dinner.

Her wedding with her husband, who is also a writer, actor and director Mpho Osei- Tutu, was on Saturday, 28 November 2009.

“Our wedding was not perfect but that makes me treasure it even more. It had its hiccups and drama, joy and elation. More importantly it had all my favourite people there, which meant the world to me,” – Tumi said in 2014 in an interview with The Citizen.

Cassper Nyovest fills up Moses Mabhida Stadium

Refiloe Maele Phoolo (born 16 December 1990), professionally known as Cassper Nyovest, has done it again. This time he filled up Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

The multi-award winning artist, who is also best known as “Mr Fill Up or Abuti Fill Up”, has previously made history by filling up the Ticket Pro Dome, Orlando Stadium and FNB Stadium.

Yesterday, thousands and thousands of Tsibibians (Cassper’s Fans) showed up in their numbers as the rapper yet makes another history.

While the concert was a success, Cassper has revealed that he lost millions due to the lack of sponsorship and broken promises.

“Bitter sweet morning. Knowing that we lost millions due 2 the lack of sponsorship&broken promises breaks my heart but knowing that 100 000s of ppl r inspired makes my life. Would I do it again? HELL YEAH!!! It’ll take me a while 2 make d money back but the feeling is PRICELESS!!! (sic),” – Cassper Nyovest tweeted.

He also thanked his fans for their support, saying: “I went through a lot for this show to happen but I have to say this. The way my People support me is unbelievable!!!! I don’t know why you guys love me so much but I feel the love very single time I need it most. Thank you so much #TeamNyovest . I pray God blesses your hearts (sic),” – he wrote on Twitter.

The four-part series which will be launched on Wednesday, will see Lorna taking viewers on a culinary journey as she shares her favourite festive season recipes.

Most South Africans know actress Phindile Gwala as Nonny from Muvhango. Phindile Gwala was born on December 1986 in Eshowe in KwaZulu-Natal province South Africa.

Gwala, who grew up in a small village of North KZN, Eshowe, studied entrepreneurship at Raizcorp, business management consultant in Sandton. She also obtained her N5 business management certificate through South West Gauteng College.

The bubbly Phindile made her acting debut in 2010 when she joined the theatre doing stage plays in various theatres around the country. Her television debut was SABC2 drama Muvhango where she played a role of Nonny, a receptionist on the soapie.

Phindile is currently on SABC1 drama Uzalo where she plays a role of Diniwe, MaNgcobo’s cousin.

Besides acting Phindile is an entrepreneur. She and her husband opened a Shisa Nyama and a car wash spot. She also has a catering company where they cook for government meetings, weddings and many other things. She is also an MC, motivational and public speaker.

Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 to broadcast live

DStv, SABC, and Viacom’s MTV International will be the broadcast partners for the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 taking place on Sunday, 2 December 2018 at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The live broadcast will be transmitted in over 180 countries across six continents.

DStv will broadcast the event live to all its customers throughout South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. It will also carry the responsibility to film the event and provide the live broadcast to the SABC and other international broadcast partners who will extend the reach worldwide.

MTV International will bring the festival to fans in nearly 180 countries and territories outside the US, from Australia to Argentina and beyond. MTV Base will also debut a two-hour, “best of” special in the days following the initial broadcast for its audience in South Africa and nearly 50 countries across sub-Saharan Africa. The collective reach of its broadcast partners will deliver the largest reach of any television broadcast of a Global Citizen event to date.

YouTube and Twitter will also bring the Festival to a global audience via their channels, presented by Johnson & Johnson.

MultiChoice will make the live broadcast available on DStv channel 199 to all its customers across the African continent.

Rapper Emtee, whose real name is Mthembeni Ndevu is getting married. The rapper revealed that his girlfriend Nicole Chinsamy said “yes” when he popped the question.

The rapper took to Twitter to share the news. “Got engaged. No Cap,” he wrote.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE that he popped the question on Sunday while the pair were in Ghana at a hotel they were staying in.

“It happened on Sunday. We were in Ghana at the hotel we were staying in. It felt like the perfect moment and the place was a nice place to be.”

“I had been searching for the right ring for a while. You know browsing for one for a while because this proposal was long overdue. I’ve wanted to do it for a while but I also had to pace myself and not rush into things,” – he told the publication.
