Uyanda Mbuli finds her name in local tabloids

Uyanda Mbuli

Uyanda Mbuli found her name in local tabloids earlier in 2017 when it was alleged that she was in a love triangle with Joyce Molamu and an unnamed boyfriend.

The story was first reported in the Sunday World shortly before it emerged that Mbuli and Molamu were taking each other to court. The TV presenter first opened a case of Defamation and Crimen Injuria against Fikile Mbalula’s reported ex, before Molamu retaliated with a fresh lawsuit of her own.

Mbuli has decided to come out into the open and set the record straight for anybody who might be in doubt about where she stands in this story:

“When I got my lawyers involved to contact her and send an official letter. Ms Molamu acknowledged my lawyers’ call and promised to send them her e-mail address and her lawyer’s e-mail address which she never did. I sent her the PDF version of the letter via text. Ms Molamu has not sent me an apology nor acknowledged the damage she has done to my name by the public humiliation of her Facebook post,”

She took to social media to clear her name once and for all:

Meanwhile, the reality TV star will be appearing in court to defend herself from Molamu’s claims in front of a judge.

Statistics prove that routine stands in the way of a more rewarding life

Jean Marc-Jason-Goliath-Kwesta

World record-breaking skateboarder Jean Marc, comedian Jason Goliath, and hip hop superstar Kwesta, have announced they are taking part in The Heart Effect on the 24 October in Johannesburg. The Heart Effect is a real-world experiment that aims to prove to South Africans that when you live with heart, you set in motion a more rewarding life.

“Many people claim they are afraid of change, but actually, there’s a much deeper reason for it – our unconscious bias. People have an unconscious bias that if they’ve been doing the same thing a lot, it is good. And the longer they’ve been doing it, the better it is. This isn’t always the case, with the problem being that we miss out on all the rewards that change could bring us,” says Monique Olsen, who after studying Psychology at UCT in Cape Town now uses behaviour therapy to change the social skills of individuals.

The experiment is part of a campaign driven by Red Heart Rum and their crew to prove that if South Africans choose to shake off this behavior – so, ignore their daily routines and choose not to walk with their heads down, staring at their phones, but rather seek out ways to live with heart at every turn, they will have a life full of rewards.

The three South African celebrities were chosen because they each embody what it means to live with heart. Each in their own right have attributed their success to being open to seeing new opportunities and then making the brave, bold decisions to take them. The trio are now wanting to rally fellow South African’s to do the same because they whole-heartedly believe in the idea of living with heart!

“The truth is that people have given change a cost – and that cost is far higher than the benefit that could come from it. Success is a not a result of luck, it was hard work and brave decisions. If you’re not challenging yourself, you’re not opening yourself up for new things to happen,”  said Kwesta ahead of the launch of the campaign.

This Red Heart Rum Crew is taking part in the real-world experiment on the 24 October in Johannesburg where they’re determined to prove to South Africans that living with heart sets in motion a more rewarding life and encourage them to take the on the challenge, to experience The Heart Effect for themselves.

CELL C REALITY SHOW HANGMAN TO BE AIRED ON E.TV

Maps Maponyane Hangman
Hangman, the reality television show which aims to uncover South Africa’s greatest innovator, with R1-million at stake – will premiere on e.tv on Sunday, October 8 at 12h00. The Cell C original series, which is hosted by Maps Maponyane, will also be streamed online.

Hangman is a show unlike anything on any screen anywhere! A global first in interactive, immersive entertainment, it puts viewers in the driver’s seat. By “investing” in a virtual Stock Exchange, they can help determine the outcome of the show, while standing in line to win great viewer prizes including a car.

This new reality show also gives wings to the aspirations of entrepreneurs who have identified a gap in the market and have come up with an innovation that fills that space and want to bring it to the market.

Hangman consists of two different content streams. The first is the actual reality series, which will be broadcast on e.tv as well as being streamed live online.

A final group of 10 contestants, selected from a group of 45, will have to prove their mettle through a series of gruelling challenges but their fate is determined by more than performance alone. They will have to win the approval of ‘Backers’, captains of industry and investment with keen business acumen and ruthless standards. These include celebrity economist Iraj Abedian; self-made billionaire Quinton van der Burgh; Bonang Mohale, chairman of Shell South Africa Energy Limited and businesswoman and entrepreneur Connie Mashaba.

The second stream comes in the form of a Stock Exchange called ‘The Exchange’. Viewers can truly immerse themselves in the show, meet the Backers, be inspired by successful innovators and get expert business insights. To take part in the outcome of the show, win great prizes and rewards, viewers can become virtual investors by trading on The Exchange. They will also help drive the outcome of the competition.

All customers that download the Cell C Reality App automatically receive 100 000 points which they can use to participate in the ‘The Exchange’. Points are allocated to play the game. Customers win a variety of prizes by playing the game, including a car, smartphones, data, cash and vouchers.

The innovator who succeeds in garnering the support of the Backers, while rallying viewer/‘investor’ sentiment, could walk away with a R1 million cash prize and everything needed to succeed in a 21st century market.

True grit, determination and prowess will determine the winner of the ultimate prize.

Contestants and viewers do not need to be a Cell C customer to play or download the App but Cell C customers will receive bonuses for participation and watching the show.

Hangman starts on e.tv (on DStv it can be found on channel 194) on Sunday, October 8 at 12h00 with a repeat on Saturday, October 14 at 13h00. Check social media for more updates, visit https://www.cellc.co.za/cellc/hangman or Twitter: @cellchangman

Melinda Bam

Melinda Bam is a South African director, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss South Africa 2011, becoming the official representative of her country to Miss Universe 2012.

Former Miss South Africa Melinda Bam is soaking up the sun in Mauritius.

The Tropika Island of Treasure contestant – who is currently on vacay – showed off her sensational curves, and toned legs in a floral bikini on Instagram.

“Some things in life make you truly happy! @adriaanbergh …others make you absolutely jump for joy and happy beyond belief,” she wrote on Instagram.

When I lost all of my Excuses, I found all of my Results!. . Reaching the last of my 20's, its evident that ones body changes and reacts differently. The only problem, is that we've been relying on our bodies ability to correct our own wrongs and unhealthy leniencies, and expect the same results. . But when the body has changed, don't forget the one thing thats changed even more – our MIND!. . With age, comes wisdom to know discipline is more important than motivation, that we get what we work for, not what we wish for, that excuses are worn in public, and that we need to do it, because We love ourselves – not because we hate our bodies!. . No matter what excuses I had as my younger self, to let a few things slide and delay my next effort – I'm giving it my ALL and pushing harder than ever!. . My results are not because its become easier – but because I've become stronger!. . #TIOT8 @mytropika #melindabam #fitness #fitnessmotivation #motivation #MotivationMonday #bikini #fitnotskinny

Thick Leeyonce slams body shamer on social media

Thick Leeyonce

Photographer and plus-size blogger Lesego Legobane aka Thick Leeyonce trended on social media after she hit back at a body-shamer on Twitter in a spectacular way. Twitter user Leyton Mokgerepi‏ tried his best attempt at a popular meme format on Tuesday, but failed miserably and publicly in his attempt.

The comparative format’s pretty simple and can be applied to a variety of situations, however, this version is pretty gross and exists only to body shame women. “Girls that I like vs girls that like me,” the post reads, along with images of two women.

Thick Leeyonce

Leyton’s attempt at humour may have been liked more than 5,000 times, but Lesego’s short and sweet response proved far more popular.

The blogger simply quote-tweeted Leyton’s message, saying: “I don’t like you.”

Her post was soon liked more than 900,000 times by men and women around the world, including Ariana Grande.

Mokgerepi attempted to right his wrong by later tweeting the same image of Leeyonce with the caption “Girlfriend Goals.” However, the damage was done, and no one believed him.

Lesego said she was surprised to find herself at the centre of a viral body-shaming row.

“Someone tagged me on the meme asking if I had seen it, so I decided to reply because I felt he was being rude. I had no idea it would go viral,” she said.

“I hate it when men think that fat girls are desperate and that we like every other guy because ‘we don’t have options’. I can be fat and still out of your league.”
