Skolopad faints

Entertainer Skolopad had to be stretchered out by paramedics after she collapsed. Paramedics said she was fine and suffering from exhaustion.

According to reports found on Sunday World, Skolopad whose real name is Nonhlanhla Qwabe, was taken to hospital but a source told Sunday World that Qwabe insisted that she was fine and wanted to be taken back to her hotel room to rest.

“She fainted, she is OK, it was just some weird exhaustion. But she is awake and still on my stretcher,” the source told the paper.

Sjava is set to retire from music after his next project


Jabulani Hadebe, better known by his stage name Sjava, has announced that he will be retiring from music scene after his next project. 

The award winning recording artist from Johannesburg told TshisaLIVE that his next project will be his last and wants to focus on other things outside of music.

“I always said that I only make music for myself, not for the fame or hype. I am not going to make music after I drop my next project. I don’t know what I am going to do but it won’t be in music.” – Sjava shared.

Sjava went on to say music is his life and he will make music for himself, but he feels that he needs to release something, he will do,”I just don’t want to put pressure on myself and spoil the experience of making music.”

Carol Ofori the official live voice for SAMA 24

East Coast Radio presenter, Raising Babies 101 TV host, seasoned voice over artist and motivational speaker, Carol Ofori (previously Ralefeta), is set to be the official live voice for the South African Music Awards (SAMA24) taking place this Saturday, 2 June 2018 in Sun City.

This is the second time Carol Ofori lends her voice as the official voice for the SAMAs, however, having previously pre-recorded the voice prompts for the prestigious awards ceremony, this is the first time being the live voice for the SAMAs.

No stranger to being a live voice for an awards ceremony, Carol Ofori was the live voice for the 2014 MTV MAMAs that took place in Durban. The main SAMA24 event on Saturday, 2 June 2018 will be broadcast live on SABC 1 at 8pm.

Vusi Nova for fraud and money laundering

Vusi Nova arrested

Afro pop star Vusi Nova is out on bail after being arrested for fraud and money laundering. His co-accused Jonathan Searle remains in custody.

According to IOL, musician whose real name is Vusimuzi Nongxa, is alleged to have defrauded an elderly Johannesburg couple.

The 34-year-old appeared at the Specialised Commercial Crimes court on nine counts of fraud and money laundering totalling R1-million.

Vusi Nova and Jonathan allegedly swindled the late Leon Kruger and his wife Catharina Johanna Kruger between 2011 and 2014.

According to the publication: “Searle allegedly misrepresented himself to the Krugers as Dr Joseph Safra, the chairperson of Safrasa Investments, with Nongxa named as the managing director.”

In November 2011 Searle offered the Krugers non-existent jobs at Safrasa with the promise that they would receive monthly salaries of R165 000 and R85 000 respectively.

The false employment also included benefits such as medical aid, transport and phone expenses. The SA Music Awards winner allegedly signed the false employment contract with the Krugers.

Rapper Cassper Nyovest has released the Push Through The Pain music video, starring model and Instagram trendsetter Nicole Nyaba. 

Nyovest, who once mentioned that he is going to use his music videos to tell authentic South African stories, featured Nicole who plays a young woman who is a stripper and dating older and richer men in order to pay for her university fees.

The young lady in the video also uses the money to take care of her sick father and pay for his medical bills.

In the video, we also see Nicole being harassed by men at work. Despite all these, she still tries hard to get her qualification. After she has completed her degree and returned home, she found out that her sick father is dead.

Vth Season has facilitated shows for Heavy K and Cassper Nyovest in Uganda and Mama Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Zahara in Rwanda as it expands its business operations to East Africa.

Vth Season facilitated the booking of Drum Boss, Heavy K, for the Blankets And Wine festival which took place this past weekend and saw Heavy K be the first Afro House DJ to perform live to an audience of 7000 people in Kampala and gain a new fan base.

Last month, the record label brought Cassper Nyovest for his first show in Uganda which saw him pull the biggest crowd for a Hip Hop artist in Kampala. Before that Vth Season took Afro Soul singer and songwriter, Berita to Uganda, and this July Vth Season will take Mama Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Zahara to Rwanda.

Vth Season intends to play a key role in bridging music and entertainment between East and Southern Africa and will present a turnkey solution to South African artists that would like to extend their music, brand and presence in East Africa.

Gospel singer Mphoza Mashabela gets an acting gig on Skeem Saam

Mphoza Mashabela joins Skeem Saam

Gospel singer and Limpopo Artist Movement chairman Mphoza Mashabela has scored his first acting role on Skeem Saam. 

The 45-year-old singer is set to make his television debut on SABC1’s soapie Skeem Saam from the 19th July 2018.

He will play the role of Setati, a client of motor mechanic Big Boy Mabitsela (Charles Maja). He later finds out that Mabitsela replaced the new parts of his car with old ones.

Mphoza told Sunday World: “I couldn’t believe my ears when I received a call from Mahuma Paul Rapetsoa that I got that Skeem Saam role. I kept on telling him that I was not in the mood for his funny jokes. But it finally sunk in when he repeatedly told me that I need to come to his offices and sign a contract.”

The musician further explained he used to act when he was studying teaching, but he never thought his first television acting gig will be in such as big soapie.
