Minnie Dlamini Jones Takes Russia

Media personality Minnie Dlamini Jones is currently in Russia in search of the coolest Russians to bring back to South Africa so that they experience the 2018 World Cup in South African style. 

Minnie Dlamini made the announce on her Instagram account: “we cooked up something crazy, something wild, because everyone says that the FIFA World Cup in South Africa was the best one yet,” Minnie Jones said in the Instagram video.

“Everyone says the Fifa World Cup in South Africa was the best one yet,” Minnie said.

The 21st installment of the FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia from June 14 to July 15. The show-piece will take place at 12 different venues in 11 cities in Russia.

Soccer star Andile Jali gets released on bail

Andile Jali

Bafana Bafana player Andile Jali has been released on bail following an arrest for allegedly drinking and driving. 

According to Sowetan, the soccer star reportedly spent a night in jail on Saturday. He was released the following day on R1 000 bail and will appear in court in 2019.

According to other reports, Jali denied the rumours of his arrests. The Tshwane Metro Police Department has remained mum on the identity of the arrested player.

When a follower on Twitter asked if it was Andile that was arrested, the he replied,” It’s not me please guys.”

“He has been released on R1 000 bail and will appear in the Hatfield Court, courtroom number two, on May 15, 2019,” TMPD spokesman, Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba told the Siya crew.

The Siya crew attempted to call Jali for comment several times, however, his phone was switched off.

For those who don’t Bongani, he is a South African professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Bidvest Wits and Bafana-Bafana.

Lerato Kganyago

He was born in Manzini, Swaziland, to a Swazi mother and father. He grew up in Pretoria as his father relocated to South Africa and was the third player born outside South Africa to play for Bafana Bafana.

Khumalo was named in the South African squad for the 2009 Confederations Cup and 2010 FIFA World Cup, both in South Africa.

Every week Gangiah will be joined in studio by gurus in the Formula One and racing discipline that includes the experienced Bashobonke “Tschops” Sipuka, who competed in the formula Volkswagen class in Germany as well as Saloon car racing in Malaysia and super truck racing in South Africa.

Rapper AKA is going to be a part of the WWE LIVE South Africa tour.

The WWE LIVE SOUTH AFRICA tour begins at the Grand Arena, GrandWest, Cape Town on Wednesday, April 18, and Thursday, April 19 before debuting at the Sun Arena, Time Square, Pretoria, on Friday, April 20. The tour concludes at the Ticketpro Dome, Johannesburg on Saturday, April 21.

The rapper took to his Instagram account where he said: “Dreams do come true 🙀@wwe 🚨 … #WWELIVE SOUTH AFRICA 🇿🇦 I remember myself & my younger brother with cut out cardboard belts wrestling for the world 🌎championship 😂 … him falling off the bed and hitting his head for some reason or other, my mom shouting at us, telling us to stop!! … now look, I’m part of the show. Sports anchor for SABC Sport Mpho Maboi and footballer Reneilwe Letsholonyane had their colourful traditional wedding over the weekend.

The long-time couple’s traditional wedding was a mixture of Tswana and Pedi cultures.

In one of the snapshots they shared on Instagram, they rocked Shweshwe blue and white layers. In another photo, they looked beautiful in Pedi-inspired traditional wear with bright pops of pink and yellow.

“The beginning of a lifelong journey… Thank you to all those who could make it to our celebration,” Maboi wrote on her Instagram account.

“I embrace all that my human comes with. Including his culture. Yesterday I was welcomed by my in-laws and got my new Setswana name (No I won’t share it here). He is mine and I am his (sic) A celebration of Love.”

Caster Semenya graduates

Olympic medalist Caster Semenya has obtained a Sports Science qualification from North West University.

Semenya recently broke South African 1 000m record at the Athletix Grand Prix Series in Pretoria a few weeks ago.

The 35-year-old and her partner Violet Raseboya took to social media to share the great achievement. Violet couldn’t hide her pride and joy at her partner’s achievement.

“She builds and inspires others because she knows what it’s like to be torn down. Never give up in life no matter what. She is my inspiration,” Violet said in a post.

David Beckham hangs out with South African celebrities

Football legend David Beckham is in Mzansi and some of our local celebrities got a chance to rub shoulders with him at the SA launch of whisky brand Haig Club in Johannesburg.

David Beckham is the international ambassador for the well-known single grain Scotch whisky, which has been around since 2014.

Among the South African celebs snapped with the famous soccer player was The Voice SA host Lungile Radu, Tshepi Vundla and Miss Lelo.

Speaking at the event, Beckham said “I am incredibly proud to have been part of the creation of Haig Club and to be working with Diageo in South Africa. It is such an amazing country. Raising a glass of Haig Club Clubman last night with everyone was truly special.”

David also shared a snap of himself at the launch on Instagram welcoming the drink to South Africa. He wrote: “Welcome to Haig Club South Africa.”

The couple shared the good news with their fans on Instagram.

Sue, who is Dubai with her husband, had supporters celebrating when shared the first photo of herself in a bikini with a baby bump clearly showing. The lifestyle blogger later shared another photo confirming that she is indeed expecting another little one.

Duminy and Sue already have a daughter together.

Special Olympics proudly welcomes WWE’s Titus O’Neil to South Africa

Special Olympics South Africa today proudly welcomed WWE Superstar Titus O’Neil to South Africa. Titus captained a Play Unified football team against South Africa’s Mark Fish’s Play Unified team at Unity College Special Needs School to show his support for the global social inclusion movement.

The event was part of the WWE media tour on radio and on television, WWE, Special Olympics Africa and Special Olympics South Africa were celebrating the global relationship between Special Olympics and WWE.

South Africa is the first country on the African continent to host a Play Unified event with WWE talent!

The event saw two the teams compete in a Unified Recreational event. Titus O’ Neil and Mark Fish were joined by Special Olympics South Africa athletes and Unified partners from the Gauteng provincial team, and Special Olympics South Africa ambassadors MMA athlete, Garreth “Soldierboy” McLellan and 7de Laan’s Andre Lotter and rap artist Preddy Ugly.

Special Olympics South Africa local supporters rap artist Gigi Lemanye, DJ Citi Lyts and Mrs South Africa and Mrs World 2016, Candice Abraham were on hand to support the teams.
