Local hip-hop rapper HHP – Hip Hop Pantsula, whose real name is Jabulani Tsambo has passed away at the age of 38. The cause of his death is still unknown at the moment.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, his wife Lerato Sengadi confirmed his passing, saying: “Yes, yes it’s true. I am with the family at the moment,” said Sengadi.
HHP, who is also better known by his nickname Jabba opened up about his battle with depression during the Fresh breakfast show on Metro FM just a few weeks ago.
The Motswako MC who frequently performed in several languages, though mostly in Setswana, was best known for his hits such as Music & Lights, Tswaka, Bosso, Jabulani, and Harambe.
Condolences have started pouring in from his peers and fans including, JR, Boity, AKA and Da L.E.S.
“Just heard the most terrible news … another icon gone too soon.” – AKA tweeted.
“Bad News for HIP HOP TODAY.” – Da L.E.S tweeted.
“#RIPHHP how death has claimed so much from our country this year. We plead with the heavens, particularly in the name of our youth, ENOUGH. May we leave long, long and long enough to see economic freedom in our lifetime. Nevertheless, in perfect peace he must rest, black child,” – EFF National Spokesperson & Commissar Mbuyiseni Ndlozi tweeted.
“#RIPHHP… I’m gonna miss you champ (sic),” – JR said.
“I say this ka Pelo e botlhoko thata. Rest In Peace to a Legend. A lyrical genius. An icon. A true game changer. Thank you for making Tswana fashionable. Robala ka Kgotso, Jabbaman. #RIPHHP (sic),” – television personality turned rapper Boity Thulo tweeted.
DJ Cleo, whose real name is Tlou Cleopas Monyepao, also shared a screenshot of his last conversation with rapper HHP just days before Jabulani’s shocking death. The two were planning to meet this Thursday.
“Had I known that we were chatting for the last time I would have stayed on the line for long. But we were setting up a meeting for Tomm (THURS) for a further brotherly session (sic),” – DJ Cleo tweeted.
