Every year around October, the City’s streets are paved with carpets of purple petals as the famous Jacaranda trees strut their purple leaves to usher in the summer season. With the colour purple signifying spirituality, vitality and fulfilment, it only makes sense for MTN Joyous Celebration to close of a successful year of touring and winning awards in the Jacaranda City.

Co-founding member and conductor of MTN Joyous Celebration, Mr. Lindelani Mkhize, promises that “this is not going to be the same show we’ve been presenting this year. MTN Joyous Celebration 22 – The Special @ Time Square is going to be a power-packed production which will feature guest appearances by some of our fans’ all-time favourite members who have graced our stage in the past. We have also enlisted spiritual leaders as part of ‘The Special’ to offer our thanksgiving for the extended Joyous family as a whole.”

The MTN Joyous Celebration 22 project and tour has been a remarkable journey and success. The collective became the first South African Gospel Ensemble to win four SAMA’s in the same year in the categories Best Selling DVD of the Year, Best Selling Album of the Year, CAPASSO Best Selling Digital Download Composer’s Award and Best Selling Digital Artist of the Year all for Joyous Celebration Volume 21: Heal Our Land album. They’ve also sold out shows throughout their national tour for the MTN Joyous 22 ‘All for You’ offering.

“We are in awe at how the grace of God is always with us,” says Pastor Hlongwane, founder and cast member of MTN Joyous Celebration. “The support has been humbling and astounding. We are grateful for the love our fans have given us which has carried us from city to city as we performed throughout the length and breadth of the country and beyond this year. We are thrilled for the opportunity to return to Pretoria after all these years and promise our fans an unforgettable music experience.”

Mapula Bodibe, Executive for Consumer Business at MTN, elaborates that “MTN has had the privilege of continuously supporting and showcasing one of the biggest music genres in South Africa owing to MTN Joyous Celebration and the ensemble’s massive following and success. Because of this, we are constantly inspired to actively look for exciting ways to amplify existing and exclusive experiences for our customers and this year has been no different.”

“MTN Joyous Celebration fans stand a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to a lifestyle and music festival in New Orleans, USA in 2019. All they have to do is to download or stream six or more MTN Joyous Celebration exclusive songs on MTN Music+ by end of October,” Bodibe adds.

Tickets for this not-to-be-missed MTN Joyous Celebration 22 – The Special are available at Computicket and Shoprite / Checkers stores country-wide. Take advantage of the 10% discount for groups of 10 purchases and be part of a spiritual uplifting moment with MTN Joyous Celebration.
