Nomzamo’s Black Girl Magic continues

Nomzamo Mbatha

You’re probably tired of hearing about 2017 being Nomzamo Mbatha’s year, or you’re really happy for her. But we’re here to let you know that the girl has done it again!

We’re only halfway through the year and Nomzamo has already co-hosted at the BET International Awards, hosted a session at the Essence Festival in New Orleans and became a brand ambassador for L’Oreal – just to name a few.

But it seems like BET just can’t get enough of the South African darling. Nomzamo is now set to host the BET International Glitz & Glam at the Black Girls Rock (BGR) celebration in New Jersey on Saturday (5 August).

“I am still buzzing from my BET Awards and Essence Festival hosting experiences, then this call came through from BET International. It’s been a humbling period of Blessings. I couldn’t say no, as BGR is an initiative that I’ve followed for almost 10 years now and I truly commend its founder, Beverly Bond’s passion to honor and celebrate black girls (women) who are trailblazers in their various fields and social causes. One of the lessons I most treasure from my last US trip was to be surrounded by strong and successful women who embrace and celebrate each other. Women who congratulate each other with NO reservation as one BLACK GIRL’s win is for all of us,” the star said.

The actress will also be travelling to Philadelphia on Sunday (6 August), to attend the premier of her latest big screen feature A Hotel Called Memory at the annual Blackstar Film Festival.

“It was such an amazing experience to be part of this project. Having to portray and deliver the character, without my voice was a refreshing challenge to my skills and I loved being able to push myself. Of course working with Akin Omotoso, who gives you great direction and allows you to find yourself in the character,” Nomzamo said.
