Singer-songwriter Zahara is without a doubt one of the most talented and successful South African artists. The mutli-award winning artist started singing in her school’s choir when she was six years old, and at the age of nine she was told to join the senior choir because of her strong voice.
Zahara, whose real name is Bulelwa Mkutukana, released her debut album Loliwe in 2011. The album was well received by many South Africa.
In 2012 at the South African Music Awards, she walked away with eight awards, including “Album of the Year” and “Best Female Artist.”
Mzansi’s new favourite Idols SA contestant Yanga Sobetwa, who is believed to be Zahara’s lookalike lifted everyone’s spirits by performing “Xa Bendino Mama” by Zahara and “If This Ins’t Love” by Jennifer Hudson.
Tonight’s Idols SA song choices were ‘love songs‘ and ‘celebration of SA music‘.
Zahara, also took to Twitter to appreciate Yanga. She said: “Hey Yanga, my sisters just called me right now, they like you are my younger sister and I’m their old sister…I just want to say keep up the good work…”
