Media personality and choreographer Somizi Mhlogo will be taking part in the 5th annual Thando Thabethe Women’s Day Netball Challenge happening on the 9th of August.
The Thando Thabethe Women’s Netball challenge, founded by media personality, Thando Thabethe in 2014 is an annual fundraising event aimed at raising awareness against women abuse, creating conversation around gender equality and women empowerment.
Over the past 4 years, the event has raised over R300 000 towards NGOs and Charities that work towards the empowerment of women.
According to Thando’s official website, in 2015 Thando spear headed and gave birth to arguably the most influential social media campaign to accompany her annual CSI program, The Thando Thabethe womens day Netball challenge.
A campaign she called #MakeItStop that reached over 5 000 000 South Africans, was featured in international news stories and has an estimated coverage value of over R1 000 000.
