Tickets to the Crown Gospel Awards are now available

Crown-Gospel-Awards-2017

The much anticipated annual gathering of the Gospel music industry, the SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards will take place at the Durban ICC Arena on the 26th November 2017.

The nomination submission process which was opened from July to September 2017 saw more than 600 entries being received by the World Gospel Powerhouse. Further, with the introduction of two new categories this year (Best Clap & Tap AND Best iTende), the volume of entries for all categories was overwhelming and beyond expected. Ten years later, the crowns have proven that they are the leading awards nationally and continentally.

All entries received will be grouped according to their respective categories for judging. The judging panel will review all submissions and deliberate upon them for a projected period of one week.

“The panel of judges for the Crown Awards include seasoned industry heads and role-players who have vast experience & knowledge on music and entertainment. Their role will be to judge all entries and score them according to our points system and criteria before consolidating a final nominees list that will be announced to the public this month”, said Zanele Mbokazi – Founder and Executive Producer of the Crown Awards.

The 2017 Awards will be preceded by an Ayihlome Prayer that will take place on the 23rd November 2017 at the Durban ICC from 11am, free for all to attend.

Also, running parallel to the crown awards this year is the 2nd installment of the Christian Expo Africa, an exhibition & networking platform for Christian businesses and individuals. The expo will run from the 25th – 26th November 2017 at the Durban ICC. Entry for the public is free of charge. To book your stand at the Christian Expo, call: 031 303 3520 or email [email protected]

In celebrating a decade of the awards, the ground breaking gospel musical #MARIA, a production of the World Gospel Powerhouse, will open the show at this year’s awards. The musical narrates the story of the birth of Jesus Christ and stares Jessica Nkosi, Brian Temba, Sihle Zulu and Yolanda.
