Queen Sono season two is coming to Netflix South Africa

Today Netflix announced the renewal for a second season of the African Original series, Queen Sono, starring actress Pearl Thusi.

What we know about Queen Sono so far:

It was announced on Instagram that Netflix has renewed its first African Original series, Queen Sono for a second season. Queen Sono starring Pearl Thusi also shared the good news with her fans on Twitter.

Kagiso Lediga, creator and executive producer of the Netflix crime drama Queen Sono, also shared his excitement of the show’s return, he said “I am so excited by the appetite for African stories and that Netflix is continuing to partner with us to bring to life the next chapter of Queen’s story and showcase it to the world.”

Dorothy Ghettuba, a Kenyan film maker and TV entrepreneur, congratulated Kagiso Lediga and Diprente team, she said “Kagiso Lediga and the Diprente team delivered a compelling story that resonated with our viewers and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for Queen Sono in this coming season.”

According to Quick Read, Queen Sono season 2 cast includes, Pearl Thusi, Vuyo Dabula, Enhle Mbalu Mlotshwa, Chi Mhende, Sechaba Morojele, Khathu Ramabulana, Rob Van Vuuren, Kate Liquorish and Loyiso Madinga.

Lead Actress, Pearl, who played as a spy with a complicated love life with actor Vuyo Dabula, also deals with her family’s past and is devoted to protecting the people of Africa. For season 2, the streaming service revealed that “Queen searched for the truth as her newfound need for revenge takesher on a mission across Africa.”

The new season’s release date hasn’t been officially confirmed for all we know.
