With all the glitz and glamour of the 91st Academy Awards set for 24 February 2019, Ster-Kinekor has launched their popular annual OSCAR® Buzz campaign. This kicked off on 7 February with a special red-carpet event: a preview of Best Picture nomination, Green Book.
With the audience packed with actors, actresses and other local celebrities, the screening set a sparkling tone for this year’s OSCAR® race. Audiences have been deeply moved by Green Book‘s telling of the unlikely friendship that developed between celebrated African American pianist, Dr Don Shirley, and his Italian American bodyguard, Tony Vallalonga, during a road trip through the Deep South in 1962. With nominations for OSCARs® in five categories (as well as several nominations for Golden Globe awards and Critics’ choice awards), Green Book looks to be a strong contender. It releases in Ster-Kinekor theatres on 14 February – so don’t miss it!
