A post shared by Simphiwe Ngema (@simzngema) on

A couple of weeks ago in an exclusive interview with ZAlebs, Simz Ngema talked about honouring her late husband Dumi Masilela’s memory, the healing process and the future.

It’s been a little over a year since actor and vocalist Dumi Masilela’s death, and to honour his memory, Simphiwe Ngema decided to launch his album titled Eternal Crush.

“Launching Eternal Crush was an emotional roller-coaster, but it was something I knew I would do eventually. Dumi was working on his music a few days before he passed. It was what we were talking about every day, it was what he was working on.”

“Immediately after Dumi’s death, I thought I was going to die. I didn’t have the strength to wake up, let alone listen to his music. It has taken a lot to get to this point and I now take this as a healing process.”

Since her husband’s death, Simz says she feels like her purpose in life has shifted immensely.

“I always believed that my purpose was to get married to Dumi and we’d be an example to the couples that were coming behind us that it can actually work, and you can do things right and prosper but God had other plans, so my purpose has now shifted, I believe that my purpose is to show strength and show that God is alive.”

Amanda du-Pont on why she left RGB

Amanda du-Pont on leaving RGB

Swazi-born South African actress and television personality Amanda du-Pont has reflected on why she left Real Goboza (RGB).

ALSO READ: Amanda Du Pont Looks Stunning On The Cover Of Glamour Magazine

Amanda du-Pont rose to fame when she juggled many jobs including being a presenter at Real Goboza (RGB). She however had to leave as the job clashed with a lot of relationships she had built.

In an interview on Metro FM, Amanda reflected on what compelled her decision to move on from the celebrity gossip show.

“I enjoyed the platform, but certain parts of the show had to be spicy and saucy to certain people and I no longer had it in me to do it. I know it was for entertainment but at what cost? It’s not ok, imagine I know you and next week I’m like ‘Yhu, Pearl what were you wearing? And I’m like that’s not me and it doesn’t serve me or my purpose so maybe it’s time I should leave.”

Amanda added that just before she left RGB in 2016, the job destroyed her friendship with Khanyi Mbau after she made some spicy comments about her on TV.

Amanda’s even job tarnished her relationship with Khanyi Mbau.

“I remember Khanyi once called me and she was like ‘Friend how can you say that? My mom loves you, why would you say that about me? ‘And I was like friend, they made me and it was at that point where I was just like, I don’t have to do this, so now it’s all about things that are positive.”
She left grateful for the opportunity that the platform gave her, and has no regret about leaving.
