Malawian Hip-Hop artist Tay Grin collaborates with international acts

Malawi Tay Grin music video

Malawi’s iconic music figure Tay Grin has yet again set the bar high with music collaborations involving international stars from Africa.

Limbani Kalilani is a Malawian hip hop artist better known by his stage name Tay Grin. In 2009 Tay Grin founded an Entertainment & Event Promotion company, which helps to promote events across Malawi.

The multi-award winning artist has this month been featured on two songs done by artists from Uganda and South Africa. The projects add up to his existing international music collaborations.

Malawi Tay Grin

Bebe Cool fell in love with the Nyau King’s versatility in music, hence featuring him on “One more touch”. The product is currently enjoying airplay, with downloads piling up on different music sites.

South Africa’s hip hop star DA L.E.S followed the Ugandan footsteps by featuring Grin on his track entitled Stay. The audio for the song is within the audience reach having been released earlier this month.

These projects come after his other chart topping music collaboration. The Blantyre based Mcee earlier this year worked with Tanzania’s Vanessa Mdee on his song tagged Tola.

2016 was equally decorated for the Proudly African album creator, as he dropped two hot songs which feature two top Nigerian musicians, 2BaBa and Orezi. Chipapapa which involved the former was the first to come out while Kanda followed with the latter having an input in it.

In 2015, he was named among top 100 influential people in the world by a United Kingdom (UK) magazine called C.Hub.

A few months ago, he was on an international tour in South Africa, UK, and America but prior to that he performed at the Secret Solstice Festival in Iceland where he shared the stage with Rick Ross and Big Sean among other international hip hop stars.

Controversial socialite Skolopad fears for her life

Skolopad fears for her life

According to TshisaLIVE, entertainer Skolopad whose her real name is Nonhlanhla Qwabe claims to be fearing for her safety after allegedly receiving random visits by strangers at her home and “verbal threats” at her workplace.

Skolopad told TshisaLIVE that after several nerve-raking encounters recently, she doesn’t feel safe anymore.

“I think I’m only realising how serious this is now. It’s not only work that I am worried about but my house as well. There are random people just pitching up at my house at odd hours and I don’t feel safe at all. In addition, I can’t trust some of the people I work with now and it’s getting hectic.”

Skolopad, who shot to fame after gracing the Metro FM Music Awards red carpet earlier this year in a revealing yellow dress, said she had not anticipated that her fame would ever make her feel “unsafe”.

Reports say Skolopad approached management to help her study extra courses next year, which she believes will enable her to move to a new place where she would not be easily recognised.

“I want to advance and do courses that will lead to my eventual diploma in nursing. The way I see it, that is the only thing that will help me move away from my current work space and location. I would go do it in Bloemfontein or Welkom. So far, we are waiting for approval but I really hope it comes through.”

The entertainer has previously spoken out about conflict at her workplace, which flared after her sudden rise to fame.

“After the SAMAs, my bosses wanted to fire me at work. The matrons were happy to get rid of me at work,” she said.

Skolopad said that she had met with the head of department at the hospital she worked at to try to resolve the concerns. She was told she could continue with her alter ego if she covered up.
