Driemanskap

After much promotion and anticipation, SA’s prolificgroup, Driemanskap return to the pulpit of hip hop with the highly anticipated single titled Give A Wh?t featuring YoungstaCPT.

Give A Wh?t produced by King Kosh is a banging catchy street anthem with aggressive bars. With the heavyweight feature of YoungstaCPT who has become one of the most sought after local rappers the song is definitely about to make its impact on the current radio and music landscape at large.

“The song basically means whatever the obstacles or challenges standing on our way we don’t Give A Wh?t, we will fiddle our way through regardless,” expresses the group.

This collaboration is different to any the group has done before as it represents Cape Town to the core. “We are hoping this collaboration will revive and unite the Cape Town hip hop scene and also break the barriers between black and coloured people in the city,” expresses Driemanskap.

Give A Wh?t is an extension of Driemanskap’s colourful discography but more youthful yet ancient in its sound and also authentic. The group originally from Cape Town Gugulethu, has been lauded by many both locally and internationally for being distinct, intriguing and proudly African sound.

Give A Wh?t is the second official single off their upcoming sophomore Hlala Nam album which is one of the highly anticipated album this year.

Driemanskap form the vanguard of the new generation of proudly South African Hip Hop artists who understand that Hip Hop, more than any other musical art form, is about addressing important issues and representing where you’re from. They are one of the pioneers of the Spaza movement, representing Cape Town with a rhyme style that combines their mother tongue, isiXhosa, with English and Cape Flats slang.

Following their impressive performance at Back To the City festival a lot can be expected from the group this year with a couple of earmarked international collaborations on the way.
