The Queen Mzansi

Dineo Moeketsi and Fezile Makhanya’s performance last night has touched so many people in South Africa. The Queen Mzansi was not shy to shine a light on the realities of being in an abusive relationship when they portrayed the story of an abusive partner Tebogo (played by Fezile Makhanya) and victim Keabetswe (played by Dineo Moeketsi).

This is how the fight started “after a squabble, Kea had enough with Tebogo’s emotional abuse and pushes Tebogo away. He then slaps her, she fights back and continued to punch her and throw her around.”

See the videos below:

“I’m grateful that we challenged ourselves the way we did Fezile Makhanya. We knew of the ramifications and went full steam ahead. Dare I say It, I am proud of us. We took stand against the perils of abuse. Love to the entire #TheQueenMzansi team. They supported us immensely (sic),” – Dineo Moeketsi tweeted.

Both Dineo and Fezile were applauded by Connie Ferguson for their performance: “Dineo and Fezile I’m really proud of how far you two pushed that physical abuse scene! I know you were both emotionally spent on the day, but Bravo🙌🏾! Message LOUD & CLEAR! #StopWomenAbuse #POWA #TheQueenMzansi (sic)” – Connie said on Twitter.
