BET Africa has announced that they are holding auditions in Johannesburg for actresses to play the legendary musician, Lebo Mathosa, who who passed away in 2006, in an upcoming movie being made about her life and music.
Lebo Mathosa died in a car crash at the age of 29 after her driver lost control of her vehicle in Johannesburg. The late Mathosa began her music career with the popular South African band Boom Shaka in 1994 at the age of 17 after she caught the eye of music producer Don Laka at a club in Johannesburg
The biopic is about the life of Lebo and will take the viewers on a journey to the 90’s for a taste of the Kwaito revolution.
“This will be based on the singer’s incredible life story while taking viewers on a journey to the 1990s for a taste of the Kwaito revolution,” – BET Africa wrote.
Auditions for The Lebo Mathosa Story will be held at Skyrink Studios in Johannesburg CBD on Sunday 31 March from 8AM.
