The song got many South Africans fainting on the job, at schools, and while driving. The dance sees people falling to the ground at the chorus and words: ke na le bolwedhe bao idibala (I have an illness of fainting). The chorus has evoked imaginations, leading to the #IdibalaChallenge, where people imitate fainting.

This new dance style is expected to set the festive season alight and mood for partying in all kinds of environments.

Limpopo-born musician King Monada’s hit songs include O nyaka mo, Lalalelile, Molamo, Ska bhora moreki, Bjala ke dilo tsaka, Melomo ya batho, O Waka DJ, Di Danone, Distance and Ere ko botse ka nna.

Monada has won an award for best male artist and entertainer of the year. His hit song “Ska bhora Moreki” took the whole country by a storm and made it to 2016/2017 song of the year beating the Durban-based singer and Gqom queen Babes Wodumo’s hit ‘Wololo’.
